Silver City Blues Festival
May 26 to 28, 2006
Where is it?

The Silver City Blues Festival is a rollicking three-day series of concerts, street dances, vendors, food, fun and more, in Gough Park and other venues in Historic Downtown.

The Silver City Blues Festival has become one of the Southwest's premier music festivals, drawing musicians and music fans from around the world.

Set in the grassy confines of Gough Park in May of each year, the Blues Festival is a music event, community celebration and all-around block party, set to an outstanding assortment of blues music. Silver City's terrific late-Spring weather almost always assures warm afternoons and cool, star-lit evenings on the park lawn.

The Mimbres Region Arts Council (MRAC), sponsor of the annual event, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural life of southwestern New Mexico by providing quality programs that nurture and inspire a love and understanding of the arts.

MRAC, founded in 1981, has 500 members who support activities in the Visual Arts, Performance Arts, Arts & Culture Tours, and Kennedy Center Youth Programs in the Silver City and Cobre Schools. In April of 2005, MRAC received New Mexico's "Best Arts Council" award for the second year in a row for its achievements in the region and for its hard-working volunteer organization.
